The state Public Service Commission oversees the state's electric utilities and is responsible for assessing electric demand and approving utility construction projects. The PSC publishes the Strategic Energy Assessment, which looks at electric demand and utilities' plans for meeting that demand on a statewide basis. The state Department of Administration publishes the annual Wisconsin Energy Statistics which presents current information on energy supply system and use patterns.
